“Whale of a Time” is a quality made, simple automaton sculpture representing a Sperm Whale - the subject of the legendary book “Moby Dick”.
The whale is lovingly created from cold-cast aluminium and has a hand sawn real copper tail applied with a hammered finish that catches the light. The base is made from salvaged, recycled, quality dark or light hardwood. The spout is carefully created from coloured craft wire and epoxy is then used to add a water effect to the tips which glistens in the light. Real glass beads have been added to represent the whale’s deep blue eyes.
When the handle is turned, the Whale bob’s up and down whilst turning randomly around.
